A Consideration on Performance Improvement of Radio Source Estimation using Holography Method

(in English) In Holography method, complex signals received by array elements are derived from correlation values between the reference antenna signal and each array element signal which is obtained by switching the array elements one after another. Therefore, when the amplitude of the incident signal is not constant in time, the amplitude of received signal varies for each antenna element, yielding errors in the array mode vector and then DOA estimation error. This effect appears more in Capon and MUSIC methods, referred to as a high-resolution DOA estimation algorithm, than conventional Beamformer method. In order to suppress the influence of the signal amplitude variation, we proposed a Tamed-Capon method, which employs the tamed adaptive antenna using a pseudo-noise. In this paper, we introduce a method of using normalized correlation values to further improve the DOA estimation performance.
