Prototype system of a multi-point wireless energy transmitter embedded in LED light

(in English) To activate numerous battry-less and wireless sensor nodes in any indoor environments, we have proposed wireless grid which combines wireless sensor networks with wireless energy transmission. In the wireless grid,
the battery-less sensor nodes are activated by the wireless energy transmission from multiple energy transmitters introduced and located on the ceiling as a grid-like formation. Multiple energy transmitters in the LED ceiling light are introduced to realize 2-D coverage of the sensor activation area. In this paper, we develop the wireless grid in an actual office environment and evaluate the system performance from the coverage of battery-less sensors activation area viewpoint through an indoor propagational experiment. 4 energy transmitters deliver wireless energy at transmission power 30 dBm to the battery-less sensor nodes. The experimental results show that wireless energy transmission with carrier shift diversity achieves 100 % coverage to activate the developed sensor node. From the experiment, it is expected to realize the battery-less sensor networks via wireless grid.
