In this work, for application to miniaturization of RF passive components on MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit), we developed voltage-controlled artificial transmission line employing PAD (periodically arrayed diodes) structures on GaAs semiconducting substrate. We investigated the loss characteristics of PAD structure. According to results, the PAD structure showed attenuation constant of 0.102 ~ 0.281 Np/mm from 5 to 40 GHz. And the PAD structure showed much lower insertion loss than conventional transmission line due to a reduction of wavelength. |
