Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) While application of FPGAs in control systems of industrial infrastructures is promising, how to keep the functional safety is an important challenge. We have proposed an arithmetic design approach to improve the functional safety using diversity and redundancy of FPGA resources. This paper discusses the effectiveness of the approach through timing simulations of FPGA net lists and empirical evaluations on a real FPGA chip. The results show that our approach can effectively improve the error detection ration in overclock execution of the FPGA.
