Stochastic resonance is a phenomenon that occurs in a threshold measurement system. It is well known that stochastic resonance provides signal amplification in non-linear system. Thus, stochastic resonance is increasingly being applied to various fields, including neuroscience and optical research. In our previous study, stochastic resonance occurred in CT images when white-Gaussian noise was added to them. The contrast resolution of CT images was also improved by stochastic resonance. However, the improvement effect of CT image quality by stochastic resonance is still not sufficiently understood. In this study, as further application of stochastic resonance, the similarity between CT image with band-pass filtered Gaussian noise and template image has been quantitatively assessed using correlation coefficient and equivocation. |
