Proposed Method of High Accuracy Non-contact Roundness Measurement Using Multi-core Plastic Optical Fibre

(in English) In recent years, electric/hybrid vehicles using high-power motors have been spreading rapidly. A method called “Block Split Assembly” has been proposed to produce high-power motors efficiently. This method requires precise measurement of the roundness of the motor’s inner wall when assembling the stator coils.
In this paper, We proposed the new method of high accuracy non-contact roundness measurement using multi-core plastic optical fibre. The method is based on image processing of the reflected light level distribution, and evaluates the measurement accuracy from both theoretical and experiment aspects.
