(in English) The current explosive increase in the data traffic causes a rapid expansion in the total throughput for intra-rack and rack-to-rack signal transmissions of information and communication technology (ICT) systems. The ICT systems will require an interconnect technologies at a data rate on each channel beyond 50 Gb/s because of the need for high density and downsizing. To meet the requirement, the optical transmitter, which consists of a lens-integrated DFB-LD (with bandwidth of 20 GHz) and a LD driver chip based on 0.18-um SiGe process, is developed. To suppress inter-symbol interference due to shortage of the DFB-LD bandwidth and signal reflection between the DFB-LD and a package, a LD driver with pre-emphasis and high-speed termination circuits is proposed. At 43-50 Gb/s, it enhanced a LD bandwidth and demonstrated with eye opening.
