(in English) Silica-based planar lightwave circuit (PLC) technologies are widely deployed in the key devices of practical passive optical network (PON) systems. They have various advantages for realizing the commercial fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service economically. This paper reviews the assembly technology of PLC modules and the reliability of the PLC-type 1x8 optical splitter for outdoor plant.
