A study on the performance improvement of a synchronous power-saving wireless communication system by the clock drift correction

(in English) Sensor networks for infrastructure monitoring, it has to be able to long-term operation of about 10 years battery. Infrastructure monitoring is a public business. Accordingly, infrastructure monitoring system must be constructed utilizing standard techniques. LPL (Low Power Listening) is famous as a long-life technology of sensor network. Using LPL, when the time synchronization between communications devices are able to maintain, can be power-saving communication. However, in a system using the XCO, it cannot be maintained the time synchronization. The reason is the XCO's clock skew.
We developed NES-MAC that is the IEEE802.15.4e standards-based MAC stack and it has clock correction function. We show that the NES-MAC is capable of long-term drive of more than 10 years with two CR123A batteries.
