We carried out the data transmission experiment for GPS tsunami meter from marine buoy which is installed in offshore of Cape Muroto of Kochi Prefecture using the Engineering Test Satellite VIII (ETS-VIII). Based on the experimental results so far, in the future, to collect a information of variety of observations, such as the maritime weather, the ocean bottom crustal deformation, the water vapor content in atmosphere and the total electron content of ionosphere including the early detection of the tsunami, and studying a system that can be utilized in monitoring for the disaster early detection and mitigation. |
