Considerations of Equivalent C/N Degradation Caused by Delay Waves over Guard Interval in Digital Terrestrial TV Broadcasting

(in English) We have derived theoretical formulas to calculate the equivalent C/N degradation values when the delay wave is over the guard interval (GI) in the digital terrestrial TV broadcasting. From the results of theoretical analysis by numerical calculations, we have found the following. In the case of high-definition TV, theoretical values and measured ones are the same sufficiently. Also if the delay time exceeds GI slightly, the degradation becomes large rapidly. In the case of 1seg, the degradation becomes large slowly. Also if the level of delay wave is small, the degradation is saturated. Therefore, our method is useful in maintaining the signal quality.
