Three-dimensional evaluation of a multi-zone sound field reproduction algorithm based on spherical harmonic analysis

(in English) The sound field reproduction method known as High-Order Ambisonics(HOA) allows for the accurate presentation of spatial sound using fewer loudspeakers than competing technologies. However, its formulation limits it to a single compact reproduction zone making it inadequate for multi-user applications. To overcome this limitation, we proposed a multi-zone sound field reproduction method based on spherical harmonic analysis. This method has been evaluated only through simulations in the horizontal plane. Here, we extend the evaluation to consider the entire three-dimensional space and plane waves arriving from different elevations. Our results show that the proposed method is capable of reproducing three-dimensional sound fields.
