[Poster Presentation] Study of Reducing Delay in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Data Aggregation

(in English) In wireless sensor networks, to suppress power consumption is an important issue. Usually, when a router relays the data from other nodes, there may be unused slot in a packet, because data size is smaller than the packet size. Therefore, it is possible to save the power by the data aggregation which transmits multiple data in one packet waiting for arriving them. However, the delay is inevitable. In the previous study, we proposed the limited delay method which transmits data within specified maximum delay time. Though this method is possible to control the delay time under the specified maximum value, the useless delay might be produced, because the transmission of a packet must be waited for the predetermined delay time from the arrival of the first data. Therefore, in order to reduce this useless delay we propose new delay control method which predicts the arrival time of the next data using known interarrival time. In this paper, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method by simulation.
