Performance evaluation of wireless feedback control systems with Huffman coding under data rate constraint

(in English) This study addresses Huffman coding to reduce the amount of transmitted control information in wireless feedback control systems. In wireless control systems, packet loss occurs owing to wireless communication channels. By introducing a variable length coding scheme, transmitted control information is efficiently reduced. However, a variation of the rate of packet loss for the control information arises. In addition, under a data rate constraint, the longer the code length, the longer the transmission delay. As a result, the control information may not be transmitted in time for the period of control. In this study, the performance of a wireless feedback control system with Huffman coding under a data rate constraint is verified.
