Classification Rule of NLoS Region in Indoor Propagation Estimation Combining Ray-Tracing with Statistical Models

(in English) In order to improve estimation accuracy of statistical models, a method in which subdivide NLoS region using number of reflections or diffractions calculated by ray-tracing, and then applies different statistical models to each regions is examined. First, we subdivide NLoS region of office environment using classification rules in which subdivide up to 3 times reflections, 1 times diffraction, and others. Then compare fitting errors of these statistical models. Fitting errors decrease from 4.18 dB to 3 dB after subdivision, but fitting errors don’t decrease any more. Second, we evaluate the calculation errors of developed statistical models in 2 office environments. The calculation error takes minimal value of 3.38 dB in the environment 1 (80m× 20m) when we subdivide NLoS into 3 regions up to 2 times reflections and others, and of 3.69 dB in the environment 2 (25m× 35m) when we subdivide NLoS into 4 regions up to 2 times reflections and 1 times diffraction respectively, and tend to increase when we subdivide further. For these result, it is optimal to subdivide NLoS into approximately 3 or 4 regions.
