[Invited Talk] Recent Three-dimensional Video Display by Electronic Holography
Hisayuki Sasaki (NICT) IE2015-40
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we introduce recent three-dimensional (3D) video display by electronic holography. Firstly, we show the enlargement of reconstructed image size by image tiling. The electronic holography using reflection-type multiple spatial light modulators (SLMs) have limited scalability in size of reconstructed 3D image. We propose a newly devised space-saving image-readout optical system to overcome the upper limit of image size scalability in former method. We apply it with 16 (4$times$4) 4K$times$2K-pixel SLMs to display larger full-parallax colour holographic 3D video than with the previous system. Secondly, we show a system that provide wide angled viewing zone (three times from original) by time-division multiplexing. We used three 8K$times$4K-pixel SLMs for colourization.
