Development of Small Size Self-Resonant Resonator mounting Dielectric Material for Wireless Power Transfer via Magnetic Resonant Coupling

(in English) We have developed small-size resonators installed the dielectric material in a space between coils in order to increase stray capacitance. Thus no external capacitor is needed. In addition, the effect reduces electric leakage. Simulation results for two types (a solenoid-type and a spiral-type) of resonators with a practical size for vehicles and without the external capacitor show that resonant frequency of 62 kHz and 92 kHz are obtained, respectively. Though experimental results did not reach the range of required resonant frequency, capacitance values of nanofarad-order were realized. The spiral-type resonator achieved 90% efficiency at high-power transfer and electric leakage suppression was -12dB (1/4) of an external resonance-type.
