Layered Lossless Video Coding based on Distributed Source Coding Theorem

(in English) The distributed source coding (DSC) theorem concerns encoding of correlated information sources, without letting the sources communicate with each other to exploit the inter source redundancy. In this paper, we propose a lossless layered video coding scheme based on the DSC theorem. Motion JPEG2000 is performed as a base layer coder for real-time streaming and the Slepian-Wolf (SW) coder based on the DSC theorem is used as an enhancement layer coder. Computational burden is shifted to network side and this scheme achieves low-complexity encoder. The proposed SW coder introduce the discrete wavelet transform to improve lossless coding performance. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme gives high coding performance over the conventional DSC based lossless video coding methods.
