Optimization of Growth Condition in Co/Pt/r-oriented Cr2O3 Multilayer on Sapphire Substrates

(in English) We report the crystal structures and magnetic properties of [Pt/Co]3/Pt/r-Cr2O3 multilayers fabricated by DC-RF magnetron sputtering method. The grown grains showed elongated shapes. The orientation and lattice parameter of Cr2O3 film were investigated from x-ray diffraction experiments. The lattice parameter was 0.363 nm, which was in agreement with that of the bulk. The magnetic property of the multilayer was investigated from magnetic field (H) and temperature (T) dependences of the in-plane and out-of-plane magnetizations (M). The hysteresis character was observed in M-H curve below 200K. The exchange bias 2×10-6Oe was observed in the negative direction at 5K. At higher than 200K the coercively became much smaller indicating the superparamagnetic property. The magnetic moments of in-plane and out-of-plane were 0.4μB and 0.8μB respectively per a cobalt ion at 300K. These values are lower than that of bulk, 1.7μB.
