We report the control of chirality and in-plane oriented of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) during growth. The SWNTs were grown by hot-wall type chemical vapor deposition (HW-CVD) method on ST-cut quartz substrate for the in-plane orientation. The 800nm free electron laser (FEL) irradiated during growth. After CVD, the surface image demonstrated the in-plane oriented SWNTs along the [100] direction. The semiconducting SWNTs were grown by irradiating FEL during growth. The observed the metallic SWNT of thick diameter. |
