In this report, a receiver diversity performance at base station for a VHF-band broadband mobile communication system is described based on measurement results. Two-branch diversity gain has been performed by using selective combining and equal gain combining schemes. By analyzing the diversity gain statistically, it is found that the diversity gain and gain variation are increased in larger antenna separation and shorter transmission range. In addition, a path loss model is developed for link budget design and path loss model parameters are extracted for over 1 km transmission range. By considering constant diversity gain (1.5 dB for selective combining, 2.9 dB for equal gain combining) with path loss model, we can estimate the received power of the system. |
