| (in English) | Pediatric occupational therapy, particularly that focusing on the sensory integration theory, has been created to treat children with developmental disorders. A previous study analyzed the utterances of a therapist during a session, to examine the differences between a session conducted by a novice and one conducted by an expert therapist. However, this study did not examine the relationship between the utterances of a therapist and the actions of his/her client child. The purpose of the present study was to improve the method of analyzing therapists’ utterances. We analyzed two sessions including one conducted by a novice therapist and one conducted by an expert therapist, using the improved method to examine the relationship between therapists’ utterances on the child’s actions. Finally, we discuss the characteristics of interventions provided by an expert therapist. | |
