We have developed a new estimation system for plant canopy architecture using kinect. This system calculates leaf area from depth data, rectifies height and inclination. We have arranged the plastic plates of the same area at some heights and angles to check the accuracy. The leaf area measured by this system tended to be overestimated.
We applied this system for measuring the leaf area distribution in the height direction of tomato community. It became clear that this system is enabled to obtain the distribution of the leaf area which reflected the future of the community to some extent. |
