Multi-Beam Multiplexing Technologies for 5G Ultra High Capacity Massive MIMO Transmission and Evaluation by Outdoor Fundamental Experiment Trial at 44GHz Band

(in English) Recently, radio access technologies for the fifth generation (5G) in higher frequency bands have been extensively studied. A Massive-MIMO system is one of the promising technologies to improve spectral efficiency. This report introduces proposed analog-beamforming MIMO (APAA-MIMO) technologies with active phased array antenna (APAA) and digital MIMO processing for the multi-beam multiplexing. Furthermore, the authors acquire the system throughput results achieved by applying the cluster-channel model obtained through outdoor experiments using APAA in 44GHz band , and show the potential of the proposed multi-beam multiplexing technologies as a 5G base station.
