Evaluation of Positioning Accuracy on QZSS Terminal for GPS Complementary and Reinforcement

(in English) Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) is a satellite navigation system consisting of several QZSS satellites in highly inclined elliptical orbits to be available. The aim of QZSS is to enhance the current availability and performance of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) typically over Japan and Asia Oceania region. Besides transmitting conventional positioning signals (L1-C/A, etc) and augmentation signals (L1-SAIF, etc) , it is expected to enhance the performance of GNSS. However position accuracy is unconditionally dependence on receivers and environment. Therefore, it is very important to evaluate the actual measured in a real environment. In this paper, we evaluated the effect of Global Positioning System (GPS) complement and reinforcement of QZSS. In the point of GPS complementary, the positioning availability time is improved from 95.5% to 98.8% at the place where the sky view factor is 11%. In the point of GPS reinforcement, positioning accuracy is improved in stable place and tall building area by moving car.
