| (in English) | Automated driving system becomes a hot topic and the R&D in US, EU, and Japan focuses near future market deployment of the system. For example, Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of Cabinet Office, Japanese Government initiated a research project on automated driving system under “Cross Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program” (SIP). They expect to launch a combined function of automated driving, in 2017 and limited self-driving automation in the first half of 2020s. Example systems of the combined function of automated driving are tracking/following system, steering for collision avoidance, automated driving in multiple lanes, and the limited self-driving automation is automated merging, etc. Needless to say, one of essential elements of the automated driving system is wireless communications, infrastructure-to-vehicle (I2V), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communications. In this talk, I will introduce some of the on-going R&D activities of automated driving system and try to mash-up the trends from my perspective on wireless communications. |
