| (in English) | BitTorrent-like P2P Live streaming or Video on Demand (VoD) services, which have been developed these days, have been reported to be effective through many network models in which highly distributed peers join according to some probability distribution or predefined trace information. Although such P2P streaming schemes might be effective also on the information delivery from an information provider to digital signage terminals which are deployed typically over a local area network (LAN), its effect has not been clearly confirmed yet. In this report, some progressive download methods of a video file are assumed on some networks on which terminals on a homogeneous LAN are connected with each other via heterogeneous network links. The influence of the piece selection policy and the heterogeneity of network links on video playback is evaluated mainly through simulation experiments. | |
