In this paper, we propose a rate adaptation scheme to prevent throughput degradation. A WLAN station based on the proposed scheme assesses whether it is exposured to microwave radiation for MPT by using rectenna output. Then, considering historical data corresponding to the assessment results, the station selects an appropriate physical (PHY) data rate. We evaluate the throughput performance of the proposed scheme with experiments. The results confirm that using the proposed scheme, we successfully mitigate the PHY data rate reduction and thus prevent throughput degradation. |
