Stroke Evaluation Method for Automated Marking of Handwritten Kanji Characters -- Identification of Substrokes Using Aggressive DP Matching --
Nobuhiko Ido (Gifu Keizai Univ.) BioX2014-75 PRMU2014-195
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Previously, I proposed a new coordinate system called “order coordinate system” and used the distances based on it to construct stroke correspondence between a standard character pattern and a handwritten character for automated marking.
In this paper, I report a method for substroke correspondence construction between two corresponded strokes, using a newly proposed "Aggressive DP Matching(ADPM)." The experimental results show that the ADPM works well for
identifying substrokes in handwritten characters, although there are some strokes which contains intrinsically ambiguous substrokes.
