Nonlinear optical effects are unavoidable issues for next generation of optical networks and multi-carriers of current optical OFDM could lead to high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Since fractional Fourier transform based OFDM with a dispersion of fiber link can generate a Nyquist pulse train which has a low PAPR, nonlinear optical effect could be reduced using appropriate fractional Fourier transform which generate a Nyquist pulse train at the middle of fiber link. In this work, we carefully investigate the suppression effect of nonlinear optical effect for multi-level modulation such as QPSK in optical fractional OFDM. |
