Recognition of daily-life actions by machine learning methods

(in English) In recent years, many researchers in computer vision are interested in human action recognition, whose improvement would open up a broad range of applications.
In this study, we propose a novel combination of machine learning methods to recognize human actions in a daily life environment; the combined constituents are posture vector quantization with K-means clustering, sequential modeling with hidden Markov model, and sequence classification with support vector machine (SVM).
Performing evaluation experiments using an open dataset, TUM Kitchen Dataset, we found that SVM that classified the behavioral sequences performed the best.
