Design of CMOS Multi-Stage Low-Noise Amplifier with Wide Bandwidth and High Gain

(in English) It is highly required to realize high gain with wide bandwidth and low noise on amplifiers. In millimeter wave, gain on MOSFET is small so that multi stage is required to obtain sufficient gain. The proposed design method with numerical search using MAG as evaluation function enables to realize both high gain and wide bandwidth. In order to consider reflection on the input/output matching network, they are designed in a different way from the middle. Consequently this method realized high gain, wide bandwidth and low input/output reflection, therefore low noise due to high gain. Four stage amplifiers are designed at the center frequency of 135GHz with Gain of 20dB, bandwidth of 30GHz and noise figure of 8.2dB.
