Framework of Proactive Communication Control Based on mmWave Environment Prediction using RGB-D camera

(in English) This paper proposes a framework of an RGB and depth (RGB-D) camera based millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication environment prediction and a proactive communication control system using the prediction results. In mmWave communications, a frame loss rate increases and throughput is decreased sharply when pedestrians block line-of-sight paths. Such serious human blockage does not occur in microwave communications. By using the RGB-D camera, we can predict a change of mmWave environment such as human blockage easily since the cameras can detect obstacles and their mobility. In this paper, we propose the framework and introduce implementations of the RGB-D camera based human blockage prediction and proactive communication control schemes. Our experimental results show superiority of of the proposed system to the conventional one.
