Preliminary Evaluation Results on Analog CSI Feedback Enhancement for LTE-Advanced

(in English) Depletion of radio frequency resource due to traffic explosion is the serious problem on radio communication and multi antenna techniques which exploit spatial channel resource such as Single User (SU-) / Multi User (MU-) Multiple-Input Multiple Output (MIMO), coordinated multi cell operation, etc. are the promising solutions for these problems while these techniques strongly depend on the accuracy of channel estimation. When applying them to downlink communication, especially in case of Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) system, UE should estimate CSI based on downlink signal transmitted by BS and feed it back to BS using uplink resource. Consequently a trade-off between CSI accuracy and the system overhead becomes a problem. To address the problem, we have focused on Analog CSI feedback method in which CSI is mapped directly onto the I/Q plane and showed our preliminary results and its enhancement assuming OFDM system such as LTE-Advanced. In this report, we show the link level simulation results of CSI feedback error performance with analog error correction code as well as proposed efficient implementation method.
