Probabilistic Content-Oriented Routing with Measured RTT

(in English) In content-oriented networks, a router can have multiple entries for the same content name when multiple content custodians provide the same content. When an interest packet finds multiple entries at a router on its path, routing strategy which selects one entry for forwarding the interest packet plays an important role for efficient content retrieval. In this paper, we propose a new content routing method, probabilistic content-oriented routing with measured RTT. In our proposed method, selection probability of a routing entry is calculated based on measured RTT so that an interface giving smaller RTT has larger probability to be selected. Our performance evaluation shows that our proposed method can distribute interest packets effectively to multiple content servers, which leads to small content retrieval delay.
