Row-Action-Type Method for Total-Variation Regularization and its Application to CT Image Reconstruction

(in English) This paper proposes an exact row-action-type total variation(TV) minimization algorithm which is faster than conventional methods. In inverse problem, it is well-known that the TV regularization is effective because it yields good results for ill-posed problem. There exist generalizations of the iterative soft-thresholding algorithm and Chambolle-Pock algorithm to optimize the TV norm exactly. However, these methods are simultaneous-iterative-type algorithm. It means that their convergence is slower compared with row-action-type algorithms. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a new row-action-type algorithm to minimize the TV-norm exactly using the framework called proximal splitting. Experimental results show that the convergence speed of the propose method is much faster than the conventional simultaneous iterative methods.
