Experimental Study on Effects to Battery Consumption by Smartphone Operation Characteristics

(in English) While various smartphones are on the market and widely used, battery life problem has still not be resolved. Reducing power consumptions of background process in smartphone modules such as Wi-Fi has been studied so far to prolong battery life. However, the battery consumption caused by background process is generally smaller than that caused by user operation. The operation characteristics vary from user to user even if their objects are the same. If a causal relationship between operation characteristics and battery consumption is detected, it becomes possible to optimize battery consumption by a new approach using operation characteristics. Therefore, we study on effects to battery consumption by smartphone operation characteristics through monitor experiments.
