This paper describes field experiments of broadband communication using VHF (Very High Frequency) band TV (Television) white space in Indonesia. In the experiments, we utilized white space of analogue TV band in Indonesia from 174 MHz to 230 MHz, in which this band is assigned for public broadband systems in Japan. We performed fixed wireless communication test and successfully established wireless link, which is LoS (Line-of-Sight) communication and 11.3 km distance, at the throughput of 6.4 Mbps in DL (Downlink) and 1.4 Mbps in UL (Uplink). In addition, we performed BER (Bit Error Rate) measurement by mobile station mounted in vehicle. NLoS (Non-LoS) mobile reception is successfully established within 2 km range from base station. Furthermore, we observed successful reception at 16.3 km LoS point and 17.3 km NLoS point by performing fixed point test using in-vehicle mobile station. |
