[Invited Lecture] A design method of multi-frequency small antenna

(in English) Recently, an indoor antenna is required to cover multiband frequency with a structural miniaturization. In general, as the number of shared frequency bands increases, the number of elements inside the antenna increases, and its structure is complicated accordingly. Mutual coupling effects between these elements increase, and it causes degradation of the electrical characteristics including directivity and VSWR. Moreover, to achieve structural miniaturization, structural restrictions arise, and the antenna design becomes more difficult. In this paper, we explain a design method of multi-frequency small sized type of planar and omnidirectional antennas, both of which are heavily used in indoor systems. We show that valid performances are obtained in terms of VSWR and directivity.
