Spiral-Slot Frequency Selective Surface to Reduce Noise Emission of Wireless Power Transfer

(in English) A spiral-slot Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) is applied in 12MHz band to suppress emission from a Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system. To reduce the physical size of FSS, single spiral-slot configuration is designed. We used periodic boundary condition surrounding the spiral slot with perpendicular incident of plane wave to reduce computation cost in the optimization of FSS structure. Furthermore, we simulate WPT system with the designed FSS placed at the middle of transmitting and receiving antennas by method of moments. As a result of the simulation of the WPT system with the designed FSS, transmission efficiency higher than 80% is obtained, while interference can be stopped in other frequency band.
