Hetero-core fiber optic humidity sensor with layer-by-layer polymer film including TiO2nanoparticle

(in English) In this study, we have been developing an optical fiber humidity sensor based on hetero-core structure using titanium dioxide (TiO2)nano-particles. In previous works, a hygroscopic polymer film is coated on the surface of hetero-core optical fiber, which has been confirmed to have sensitivity in more than 50%RH. In this paper, the polymer film is coated with Layer-By-Layer including TiO2 nano-particles with hydrophilic, and tried to improve its sensitivity in less than 50% RH. We were experimentally confirmed that the proposed fiber humidity sensor with TiO2nano-particles induced the optical loss change in 10-80% RH.
