| (in English) | Adults use facial expressions to decide whether the expresser is helpful not. That is, we are likely to regard a person with a happy expression as cooperative, and a person with an angry expression as non-cooperative. The present study investigated whether 10- and 14-month-olds use facial expressions to predict the expresser’s helping or hindering behavior. The results indicate that both 10- and 14-month-olds predict that a person with an angry expression will not help others, whereas they do not make a clear prediction whether a person with a happy expression will help others or not. | |
