In the printing system, a droplet impacts onto the substrate within time shorter than 1 ms after the emission. Adsorption of the surfactant in the functional ink on the surface changes the surface tension, which affects the behavior of the liquid droplets. There has not been, however, any effective method to measure the dynamic surface tension in the time range shorter than 1 ms after the formation of a fresh surface. We developed a method to measure the dynamic surface tension by analyzing the oscillation of microdroplets launched from the inkjet system. From the oscillation frequency of each droplet, the temporal evolution of surface tension is obtained with time resolution as high as 10 $mu$s. In this study, we succeeded in measuring the surface tension in the range shorter than 100 $mu$s after a new surface was made. |
