Comparison of Human Exposure from Two Different Wireless Power Transfer Systems at MHz-band

(in English) Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) systems typically produce strong electromagnetic (EM) fields nearby. Therefore, it is important to evaluate human-body exposure due to EM fields from the WPT systems. Since EM near-field distributions created by WPT systems depend on their shapes, it is also necessary to conduct exposure assessment for each type of WPT systems. In this study, we have developed two different WPT systems at MHz-band; one using solenoidal coils and the other using flat spiral coils. Then, we measured the EM near-fields. We also numerically determined the induced electric field and the specific absorption rate in a human model which is located nearby the WPT systems for three exposure situations, and compared the exposure assessment results from both systems. As a result, for both WPT systems, the maximum exposure-dose was found at the same exposure situation, and the limit of whole-body exposure was the most restrictive for the solenoidal system, whereas the limit of local exposure was the most restrictive for the spiral system.
