Compressed Sensing-based Estimation of Doubly-Selective Fading Channels for LTE-Advanced Downlink MIMO System

(in English) In this paper, we consider the channel estimation of doubly-selective fading channels for LTE (Long Term Evolution)-Advanced multi-user MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output)-OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) downlink transmissions. Since each user is typically allocated a few RBs, only a small number of DM-RSs (Demodulation Reference Signals) can be used for each user's channel estimation. Taking advantage of the basis expansion model (BEM) and the channel sparsity in the delay domain, the compressed sensing-based proposed scheme enables to perform accurate channel estimation even with only few pilots. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional 2D MMSE (2 Dimensional Minimum Mean-Square-Error) scheme. Moreover, the proposed scheme performs well even under dense channels.
