Sequentially Switched Antenna Array Receiver for High Speed Vehicles

(in English) In recent years, it becomes an interesting challenge to provide a high data rate radio communication for high speed vehicles. In this paper, a sequentially switched antenna array receiver is proposed to reduce performance degradation due to the fast channel fluctuation. In the proposed method, the receiving antenna placed in a linear array is sequentially switched in the reverse order of the vehicle direction of travel, so that the impact of channel fluctuation is reduced. For downlink of the high data rate radio communication systems, suitable parameters of array antenna and switching frequency of elements are shown for different speeds of the vehicle. We confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed receiver though a scale-model experiment.
