[Invited Talk] Scattering component decomposition of Pol-SAR image by using multi-baseline SAR data -- Preliminary results on PiSAR2-X campaign in Niigata --

(in English) Polarimetric scattering component decomposition is one of the powerful tool in PolSAR image analysis. However, because of limitation of number of independent observables, we cannot decompose dominant three components, surface, double-bounce and volume scattering, without several assumptions. Especially assumption for covariance/coherency matrix is necessary. This limitation often causes difficulty to apply the technique for the region having complicated scattering mechanism, such as urban area. In this report, we propose a new scattering component decomposition technique by using repeat-pass/multi-baseline PolSAR observation dataset. This technique can resolve surface and double bounce components without using any assumptions for volume scattering component. Preliminary results by the PiSAR2-X Campaign in Niigata, Japan, will be presented to show the potential of the proposed technique.
