A new compact microstrip wideband bandpass filter (BPF) based on square ring short-stub loaded resonator (SRSLR) is presented in this paper. The proposed resonator can generate a odd mode and two even modes in the desired band. In this design, the parallel-coupling feed structure with two cross coupling has been used to generate two transmission zeros at the lower and upper stopband, which can improve the out-of-band performance. A prototype of wideband BPF with high performance is designed and fabricated for demonstration. The measured 3-dB fractional bandwidth is 73.3% (1.9 - 4.1GHz) while the measured insertion loss for the filter is less than 0.7 dB, and the return loss is over 20 dB, the group delay is less than 0.55 ns in the whole passband. Good agreement can be found between the measured and simulated results. |
