In order to achieve a uniform illumination in the own radio zone and suppress interferences for other radio zones, unsymmetrical radiation patterns are requested in mobile base station antennas. For the linear array antenna configuration of a base station antenna, a radiation pattern synthesis is useful to achieve an unsymmetrical radiation patterns.
In this paper, a MATLAB program based on a leased mean square method (LMS) for an unequally spaced array configuration is developed. A cosecant squared and low sidelobe radiation pattern is designed. And multi frequency characteristics are obtained. In order to suppress grating lobes in higher frequencies, unequally spaced array is employed for radiation pattern synthesis. Designed results show that the super gain effect happens. To find out an adequate objective radiation pattern will be important in order to escape the super gain effect. |
