Enhanced terahertz emission from monolayer graphene with metal mesh structure

(in English) In order to utilizing terahertz (THz) region, the development of compact THz oscillators is essential. We aimed at the development of a device that amplifies the THz source and previously proposed a THz amplifier combining the population inversion of graphene with the field enhancement due to the spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) induced on the surface of a metal mesh structure. In this work, we fabricated prototype THz amplifiers which exhibited extremely enhanced THz emission.
